HW Martin (Fencing Contractors) Ltd was incorporated in 1976, and has been a major player in the fencing industry ever since.
In past years the Company has worked for many of the leading Civil Engineering Contractors, together with the Highways Authorities, Ministry of Defence and British Coal.
Since 1996, the Company has concentrated much of its resources on the Railway Industry and has steadily increased its share of work until it now works as the principle fencing contractor on over three quarters of the railway network.
To do this, the Company has built up a work force skilled in erecting fences to the appropriate parts of BS1722, and fully trained in operating safely within the railway environment and holds a Railway Contractors Assurance Case.
In 2000, the Company began to undertake tree surgery and tree clearance for the Railway Industry, moving into full lineside vegetation control in 2002 when the Company won a joint contract to control vegetation and carry out fencing renewals in the north west of England for Railtrack North West.
Since that time, the Company had slowly increased its share of Vegetation Management contracts in the railway industry, and is currently operating on over three fifths of the railway network.
