Learning Resources
"The pressures facing our natural environment increase each day. We need effective ways to respond and we need them now…"
What are these pressures…?
What do we mean by the natural environment…?
What is an effective response…?
At H W Martin we recognise that the work we do is a vital part of environmental protection and sustainable development. For this work to remain effective and continue into the future we strive to share our knowledge and experience with those who wish to learn.
We regularly host educational visits to our recycling facilities and recycling centres across the UK; in our Leeds Materials Recycling Facility we have a dedicated visitor centre. If you are a school or college you can link these visits to the National Curriculum or your course syllabus. Relevant topics include:
- Resource depletion
- The Waste Hierarchy
- Energy from waste
- Materials and their properties
- Force and motion
- Sustainable development
- The use of science and technology in “real world” applications
