Job Title: Apprentice Rail Plant Technician
Location: King Transport Equipment, Market Harborough (LE16)
Hours: Monday – Thursday (day shifts), 32 hours per week, actual working times to be agreed with the successful candidate
Rate of Pay: Up to £5.50 per hour + Outstanding Training

King Transport Equipment provide a new build conversion and extensive refurbishment service for on-track rail plant including first of class certification, utilising on site test facilities.
Due to increasing volumes of work and customer orders, we are looking for a highly motivated, flexible individual who possess an aptitude to develop practical mechanical skills. Are you a logical thinker with a passion to solve problems, ready to join our team and learn how to refurbish, modify and upgrade road/rail excavators and associated equipment?
You will be working over a 4 day week, Monday to Thursday, with the opportunity to attend college on a block release to work towards NVQ levels 2 and 3 in Construction Plant Engineering.
Ideally you will be joining us from a background where you have an interest or some experience in mechanical or electrical engineering and you should be able to demonstrate the following skills:
- Have a high level of accountability and ownership for results and not be afraid to tackle challenging tasks
- Be a strong team player who can work collaboratively with teams across the organisation
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- A willingness to learn and take knowledge from others.
- Have a high regard for Health and Safety
- Have a basic understanding of IT
- Good general education
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail
- Willing to work hard and commit to achieving NVQ Levels 2 and 3
