Job Title:  Senior Estimator

Location:  Blackwell, Derbyshire, DE55 5JY

Salary:  Competitive and dependent on experience

Reports to: Estimating Director

The Role

H.W. Martin (Traffic Management) Limited are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Estimator to join our National Work Winning Team. This position is based at our head office in Blackwell (Derbyshire).

You will be part of our Work Winning Team and be responsible for the production of tenders for a variety of traffic management solutions for our large national customer base. Estimates will be produced from first principles and, in some cases, produced from pre-existing framework agreements.

You will be responsible for presenting, justifying, and negotiating prices with our customers in an open, transparent, and collaborative manner.

You will support the implementation of our commercial business strategy and be responsible for the review of tender information and requirements to ensure that our tenders are fully compliant with the requirements of all applicable specifications and standards.

You will be responsible for recording tender assumptions and identifying risks and opportunities (both externally and internally).

You will also work collaboratively with our project teams, to ensure that the scope, pricing strategy and key deliverables are communicated prior to contract commencement.

Specific Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience within an estimating role (Essential)
  • Degree qualified or working towards (Preferred)
  • Experience of working in the highways industry (Preferred)
  • Valid UK driving license (Essential)
  • NEC experience (Essential)
  • Working knowledge of BIM (Preferred)
  • Good IT skills including Word, Excel and be-spoke estimating packages (Essential)
  • Working knowledge of different forms of method of measurement (Essential)
