Salary: Up to £25,000 OTE

The Role:

To support the Depot Manager, the role will deliver an efficient, legally compliant, and safe transport service whilst maintaining high levels of customer service.

Responsibilities, and Duties (not exhaustive):

  • Daily coordination of the transport operation, to include drivers, vehicles & operatives.
  • Ensure legal compliance with current transport legislation.
  • Control tachograph records and vehicle files as appropriate by depot.
  • Minimize disposal costs by use of the least cost group/best option.
  • Efficiently control accurate processing of paperwork and electronic data relating to the transport operation, using the systems provided.
  • Conducting toolbox talks and communicating risk assessments & transport procedures to drivers and operatives.
  • Maintaining safe methods of working and safe working environments, ensuring all employees, contractors and visitors obey all safe systems of work and behave in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Minimizing on-route vehicle costings through effective route management, using the support systems provided.
  • Managing vehicle defects in accordance with legal requirements
  • Reporting any operations issues i.e., driver incidents, requests, agency no-shows etc. to Depot Manager
  • Assistance with any other duties required which ensures the smooth day to day running of the operation.
  • Compliance with the requirements of the company Management System (MS), as appropriate, in the execution of your duties. (Refer to Section 5.3 of the Company Manual, inc. Appendix 3)
  • Ensure working safely remains the highest priority at all times in the execution of your duties.
