Job Title:  Welder / Fabricator

Location: Cumbernauld, Glasgow G67 2RN

Salary:  Up to £14.00ph

Hours: – Full Time – Monday to Thursday 07.30 – 16.30, Friday 07.30 – 12.30

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be a key member of the Manufacturing Team, responsible for fabricating fencing and gates. You will have the opportunity to use your skills and knowledge within the role with a clear emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Fabricating and welding gates
  • Welding all parts as per drawings
  • Fabrication of basic pieces
  • Fabrication and welding straining posts
  • Conducting and documenting Pre-use Daily Safety checks
  • Fabrication of custom made products using the following machinery:

MIG, TIG and MMA welding sets, bench grinder, hand grinders, milling machine, routers, plasma and oxy-acetylene cutting sets and general hand tools.

  • All work to be processed in accordance with the procedures listed in the Company’s Quality Manual and you must abide at all times with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy.
  • Ensure own and other health & safety at all time
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the work area, and other general duties as directed / required.

Experience, qualifications and skills required:

  • Minimum NQ and welding required
  • Qualification / certificate in either manufacturing or installation e.g. indentures, NVQ, welding certificate, fitters, turner etc.
  • Hands on experience of fabrication & production
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and be a member of a team.
  • Able to make decisions and take responsibility.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills.
