Elaine Holland Retires

Elaine Holland

Today (Friday 29th January 2010) marks the last day at work for Elaine Holland, one of the Martin Group’s many trusted and loyal employees.

Elaine has been with us for 20 years, working on purchase ledger for the different companies within the Group. She has seen many changes over the years as the Group has expanded its number of companies, national coverage and employees.

She recalls Harold Martin (who founded and still owns the The Martin Group of Companies) in the late 1990s declaring, “we need to diversify.” Elaine then witnessed the establishment of two new companies in the Group and the acquisition of yet another, bringing the total to six under the Holding company.

While adapting to these changes Elaine has provided a cheerful smile and an enthusiastic approach to everything she does. Characteristically, she plans to spend the first Monday morning of her retirement enjoying the 99p breakfast at Ikea! This, it turns out, was a family joke that has since become a pledge. Soon after, she and her husband will take a well-earned break in Bruges.

Elaine was unsure about how she would be spending the rest of her retirement. But she did let on that it will involve heading for the horizon with her husband and their caravan….

“Bon voyages” Elaine and the very best wishes for the future, from everybody at H W Martin.
