Olympic fever and the extraordinary national pride we have all felt during 2012 were in evidence once more at the Bolsover District Sports Awards.
On Friday 28th September Shirebrook Leisure Centre hosted the annual ceremony marking the sporting achievements of volunteers, clubs, teams, schools and individuals from across Bolsover District. The winners now feed into county, regional and national sports award events.
H W Martin Waste Ltd was very proud to be sponsoring the Disabled Sportsperson Award, which was won by Paralympic GB Basketball player Jon Hall.
Also proudly sponsored by H W Martin Waste Ltd was the Junior Sportsman of the Year Award. This was won by Connor Emery of Langwith.
Almost 250 people attended the Awards, where dozens of sportspeople, coaches and volunteers were recognised and the diversity of sporting activities and clubs was celebrated.
H W Martin Waste Ltd continues to maintain a close affinity to the areas in which it works, not only through local employment but also by engaging in meaningful ways with the things that are important to communities.
We wish every award winner and nominee great success for the year ahead.
