The logo for Premier Waste Recycling Ltd.Premier Waste Recycling Ltd has been recognised for its high quality and cost-effective service yet again, with a prestigious new contract award from the University of Sheffield.

Premier Waste Recycling Ltd already supplies the University with its waste and recycling services on the main campus. The University has not only selected the company to continue for a further 6 years, it has also added to that with the responsibility for waste and recycling at the University’s many residential buildings across the city.

The University of Sheffield has nearly 24,000 students from 124 countries and almost 6,000 academic staff. As well as the mile-long campus, the University student residences accommodate 5,500 students.

With an institution of this scale and such a large cohort of students and staff it is a formidable challenge to promote and manage the University’s waste minimisation and recycling initiatives. With Premier Waste Recycling Ltd on board the University can provide the right recycling services in the right places. The company has a wide network of well-established relationships with re-processors of recyclable materials. This means that when students and staff place their recyclable waste in the recycling bins, they know they are making a difference.

The new contract with the University begins mid-May this year and Phil Darwin, General Manager at Premier Waste Recycling Ltd, is already looking forward to it, commenting: “It is fantastic that the University of Sheffield has chosen to go forward with us. The contract was won against some tough competition and it says a lot about what we can do when a high profile organisation like the University includes us in their vision for the future.”
