H W Martin Waste Ltd were again proud to sponsor a table at the Rotary Club of Mansfield’s 24th Courage Awards on 3rd March 2015. The awards are held annually to celebrate the achievements of young people who battle against the odds on a daily basis, either by overcoming personal adversities or by personal sacrifice for others. They are nominated by their school or college.
A packed room heard stories of incredible courage from the students – some of whom are fighting debilitating illness, while others go the extra mile to help others.
This year we sponsored 16 year-old Jean-Luc Evans from Mansfield’s Queen Elizabeth Academy. Jean-Luc suffers from Cerebral Palsy but does not let this hold him back from making the most of school. He has always shown courage to get on with his learning, no matter how he may be feeling. His subject strengths are in Science, French and English. He would eventually like to go to university to study psychology as he feels this would enable him to have the foundation to build a successful career and future.
