We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead our new Sandbach depot, supporting our Traffic Management team and wider operational teams to deliver safe, efficient and high quality temporary traffic management solutions across the region.

THE OPERATIONS MANAGER ROLE
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day leadership of our Sandbach depot and operational teams.
You will lead from the front, creating a positive safety culture, supporting the development of our people, and ensuring that resources, vehicles, equipment and operational activities are planned and delivered efficiently.
Working closely with the National Delivery Manager and wider leadership team, you will ensure our crews have everything they need to safely deliver traffic management schemes while maintaining the highest standards of service for our clients.
You will play a key role in developing our depot, supporting growth, driving performance and creating an environment where our people can thrive.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Depot Manager or similar leadership role
- Experience managing operational teams, resources and fleet activities
- Strong understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Good commercial awareness and experience supporting operational budgets
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience using digital workforce or works management systems
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements
- Ability to inspire, motivate and develop teams
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of our leadership team, you will:
- Lead, manage and support Traffic Management Team and operational staff.
- Ensure all employees work safely and in accordance with company health, safety, quality, environmental and road traffic safety standards.
- Plan, schedule and allocate resources including people, vehicles, plant and equipment to meet programme requirements safely and efficiently.
- Ensure Service Level Agreements and client requirements are incorporated into operational planning.
- Manage depot rostering and ensure appropriately trained, competent and inducted personnel are allocated to works.
- Ensure Fatigue Management Plans are implemented and monitored effectively.
- Work closely with the Training Team to support employee development and competency requirements.
- Manage the day to day operation, utilisation and compliance of company fleet and hired vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles are available for servicing, inspections, repairs, PMIs and MOTs.
- Promote a positive road safety culture and support road safety initiatives and awareness campaigns.
- Ensure vehicle defects are reported and rectified promptly.
- Monitor fleet utilisation, engine idling and vehicle off-road performance.
- Ensure work packs are accurately resourced and contain all relevant operational documentation.
- Review operational reports and timesheet information to support effective workforce management.
- Support monthly operational and commercial reporting requirements.
- Maintain high standards across the depot, including housekeeping, facilities management, emergency arrangements and operational readiness.
- Provide operational information and KPI data to support continuous improvement and business performance.
- Act as Depot Lead when required and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the business.
