About us:

Sizewell C is a large, planned nuclear power station being built on the Suffolk coast in the UK. The project is expected to generate 3.2 GW of clean electricity, enough for 6 million homes. This is a significant part of the UK’s strategy for clean energy and energy security, with the goal of providing reliable, low-carbon power and supporting economic growth. SZC is a major project opportunity for the Martin Group of Companies.

About H. W. (Traffic Management) Ltd:

We provide data-led, traffic management services within a temporary environment. Put simply, we guide vehicles around roadworks in the safest, most efficient way possible whilst permanent improvements are made to the country’s highways.

We collate data to find ways of making the temporary traffic management strategies we deploy as safe, swift and synchronised as possible.

We also provide an emergency traffic management intervention on behalf of our clients in the event of a situation that poses an immediate risk to health, life, property or the environment. For example, in the event of widespread flooding.

The Opportunity:

The Infrastructure Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the operational supervision and delivery of traffic management and cyclical maintenance activities supporting the successful delivery of the Sizewell C Project, one of the most significant nationally critical infrastructure projects in the United Kingdom.

The role is responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant execution of all assigned traffic management and infrastructure maintenance activities across designated work areas.

Operating within a highly regulated nuclear new build environment, the Infrastructure Maintenance Supervisor will provide frontline leadership across operational teams and subcontractors while championing the highest standards of health, safety, environmental stewardship, quality and compliance.

Working collaboratively with Sizewell C, supply chain partners, internal stakeholders and operational teams, the Infrastructure Maintenance Supervisor will ensure that operational activities are delivered in accordance with programme requirements, contractual obligations and client expectations.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential Qualifications and Training

  • Thorough knowledge of traffic management and cyclical maintenance activities.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Experience supervising operational teams within highways, infrastructure or construction environments.
  • Experience implementing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Experience coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
  • Strong programme management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience operating within regulated environments where safety, quality and compliance are critical.

 Desirable Experience

  • Experience within nuclear, energy or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience working on major infrastructure projects.
  • Leadership and management experience.

 Essential Qualifications and Training

  • SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • CSCS Supervisor Card.
  • Safety Critical Medical.
  • Lantra 12D (M1/M2).
  • First Aid at Work.
  • HWM Sizewell Internal Competency Assessment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

 Desirable Qualifications

  • PASMA Working at Height Qualification.
  • A73 Plant and Vehicle Marshaller.
  • ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management.
  • Additional traffic management or highways-related qualifications.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of traffic management standards and operational requirements.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure maintenance activities and operational delivery principles.
  • Excellent leadership, influencing and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office and operational management systems.
