About HW Martin Fencing and Forestry Ltd

As specialists in fencing and vegetation management, we are used to working with leading civil engineering contractors, highway authorities and rail networks. Since 1996, we have concentrated much of our resources on the railway industry and have steadily increased our share of work to the point where we are now a principal contractor on over three quarters of the railway network.

We have also been providing a comprehensive range of vegetation management services and solutions for over 20 years. In recent years, we have introduced a dedicated ecology department and are now able to provide a complete package for ecological and vegetation management that enhances our capability to provide an efficient holistic service.

The Role:

The role will include delivering materials to various locations in the UK to facilitate fencing work and subsequent removal of scrap back to our HQ in Blackwell. The role will also involve yard duties such as loading and unloading materials with a telescopic handler, undertaking stock checks, and ensuring goods inwards and outwards are fully documented.

Duties/Responsibilities:

HGV Driver

Safe Transport:

· Securely collect and deliver materials to locations in the UK to facilitate fencing works

· Securely remove scrap from sites and return back to the depot for appropriate disposal

Vehicle Care:

· Complete daily pre- and post-use vehicle safety checks, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and reporting any faults promptly.

Compliance:

· Drive and operate HGV vehicle in line with tachograph laws

· Complete relevant paperwork as required by the business and legislation

Yard Operative

· Loading and unloading materials with a Telescopic handler

· Undertaking stock checks

· Ensuring goods inwards and outwards are fully managed and documented

Experience & Skills

· Class 1 Licence – (Essential)

· ALLMI competence – Lorry mounted crane + slinger (grab attachment and lifting with chains/slings) – (Essential)

· Telescopic Handler – (desirable)

· Driver CPC and Tachograph card (Essential)

· Previous experience in a similar role

· Ability to work under own initiative

· A reasonable level of competence of the English Language (speaking, reading, and writing) and basic arithmetic.

· Positive ‘can do’ attitude

· Good communication skills

· A flexible approach
