Job Title: Vehicle and Plant Technician

Location: Sizewell C, Leiston, Suffolk, IP16 4EW

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience, with benefits.

Hours: 40 hours per week based on a day shit – Monday to Friday 0800-1600 (Shift can have flexibility), Saturday morning work may be required as and when required. Overtime required when needed

Additional benefits: 25 days annual leave, rising to 28 days after 10 years’ service, plus bank holidays, Employee Assistance Programme, Life Assurance.

About H W Martin (Traffic Management) Ltd:

We provide data-led, traffic management services within a temporary environment. Put simply, we guide vehicles around roadworks in the safest, most efficient way possible whilst permanent improvements are made to the country’s highways.

We collate data to find ways of making the temporary traffic management strategies we deploy as safe, swift and synchronised as possible.

We also provide an emergency traffic management intervention on behalf of our clients in the event of a situation that poses an immediate risk to health, life, property or the environment. For example, in the event of widespread flooding.

About Sizewell C:

Sizewell C is a large, planned nuclear power station being built on the Suffolk coast in the UK. The project is expected to generate 3.2 GW of clean electricity, enough for 6 million homes. This is a significant part of the UK’s strategy for clean energy and energy security, with the goal of providing reliable, low-carbon power and supporting economic growth. In this role, you’ll help keep our mobile and static plant equipment/vehicles running at their best, ensuring they’re repaired and back in service as quickly as possible.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for fast and accurate diagnoses and choosing the right repair techniques.
  • Daily routine running repairs
  • Plant servicing/Inspections (Including Tractors and tankers)
  • HGV running repairs
  • LCV running repairs
  • Working independently to maintain and repair plant equipment and components on site with a service van

What we are looking for:

  • Ideally you will have a relevant City & Guilds or a NVQ Level 3 qualification.
  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or the equivalent level workplace experience.
  • First class diagnostic skills and fully conversant with the latest plant repair and maintenance techniques.
  • Ability to manage own workload and work to the highest standards.
  • Flexible and proactive in approach.
  • HGV Category C license would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Full driving licence is required due to our remote location and to be able to travel to other sites.
