Celebrating Excellence at the Highways Heroes Awards

04/12/2024

HW Martin (Traffic Management) Ltd’s Stuart Organ Honoured with Highways Heroes Award.

On November 28th 2024, at the prestigious Highways Heroes Awards held at the London Hilton, Stuart Organ was recognised for his outstanding contributions to the highways sector, particularly his customer-focused service delivery. This esteemed accolade, now in its fourth year, celebrates individuals who go above and beyond to make a difference. Stuart, nominated by his colleagues at the Peterborough depot, exemplifies the spirit of the awards.

Stephen Shaw, East Region Framework Manager at HW Martin (Traffic Management) Ltd, praised Stuart’s dedication:

“It’s my absolute pleasure to nominate Stuart for this award. Stuart has been part of our TSCO (Traffic Safety Control Officer) team in the East for just over three years. During that time, he has consistently gone above and beyond the normal scope of his everyday duties. Just a few examples including supporting distressed motorists and ensuring they get home safely; buying chocolates and flowers for residents impacted at night; helping a young mum and small child broken down on a cold night; and even picking up a lady’s husband from the train station because she was afraid to drive the diversion route at night. Stuart, you’re a legend mate. Never change.”

Stuart’s commitment to kindness and professionalism has left an indelible mark on those he serves and works alongside.

Adding to the night’s significance, Sinead Ryan, Lead Traffic Management Operative at HW Martin (Traffic Management) Ltd, and Stuart’s colleague, was invited as a special guest. Sinead is the face of the 2024 and 2025 Stamp it Out campaign, an awareness and behaviour change initiative led by Safer Highways, the organisation behind the Highways Heroes Awards. Her efforts have significantly highlighted the need for a safer, more respectful environment for roadworkers across the UK. The campaign’s impactful video was showcased during the ceremony.

The Highways Heroes Awards celebrated over 50 remarkable individuals this year, underscoring their dedication to creating safer and more positive environments within the highways industry. Stuart’s recognition is a testament to his selflessness and the exceptional legacy he continues to build.
