HW Martin (Traffic Management) Ltd has been shortlisted for five awards a this year’s prestigious Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) Awards.
The CIHT Awards celebrate excellence, innovation and progress across the highways, transport and infrastructure sectors. They shine a spotlight on the organisations, projects and partnerships making a real difference to the future of our industry.
This year, we’ve been recognised across five categories:
- Technology and Digital Transformation Award: for our Sign Asset Monitoring System (SAMS) trial on the A12 Concrete Road Reconstruction Scheme. In partnership with Fewzed, Virtus and Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, this sensor-based system helps reduce carbon emissions by removing the need for physical maintenance patrols on temporary traffic management schemes.
- Decarbonisation Award: for SAMS, which has also been shortlisted for its contribution to reducing environmental impact.
- Product of the Year Award: again for SAMS, and also for our Dynamic Journey-Time Signs trial developed with support from Fewzed, National Highways, Skanska, Connect Plus 25, Galliford Try, AECOM and Arup. This system provides real-time journey updates, improving the road-user experience and cutting emissions linked to queuing and on-site maintenance.
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award: for the Motherhood Penalty whitepaper, led by our Group Marketing and Communications Manager in partnership with Women in Transport and Kier Transportation. This important piece of work highlights the barriers mothers face in our industry and explores how we can build a more inclusive sector.
We’re incredibly proud of this recognition. It reflects the hard work, expertise and passion of our teams and partners who continue to push boundaries and champion positive change.
The winners will be announced at the CIHT Awards Ceremony on 4th June 2025 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London. We look forward to celebrating with everyone who has been shortlisted.
