HW Martin (Traffic Management) Ltd has been awarded a multi-million pound contract to deliver traffic management on the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon major improvement scheme. The £1.5 billion Highways England project is being constructed by the A14 Integrated Delivery Team (IDT) comprising joint ventures from Balfour Beatty / Carillion and Costain / Skanska. Once completed, the project will relieve congestion along this very busy section of road, improving journey times and supporting economic growth in the region.
This is the largest individual traffic management scheme in the UK to date and was awarded to HW Martin (Traffic Management) Ltd by the A14 IDT on the basis of quality and capability. Our team at Peterborough have been an integral part of the A14 IDT since 2015, providing traffic management throughout the delivery of the enabling works and demonstrating a clear ability to meet key objectives related to safety, customer service and collaboration. Traffic management for the main works is due to start imminently and the project is expected to be completed by spring 2021.
